Teesside and North Yorkshire car dealerships go for 23rd gold
Simon Bailes Peugeot has become the UK’s most accredited Peugeot dealership after winning yet another high profile award.
The Teesside and North Yorkshire-based business, which has sites in Northallerton, Guisborough and Stockton-on-Tees, has been awarded its 23rd Guild of Gold Lion accreditation.
Peugeot presents its Guild of Gold Lion awards to businesses providing the very highest standards in sales, service and customer satisfaction and for being the best-performing dealerships.
Simon Bailes Peugeot was honoured in recognition of the company’s strong performance and continued growth which bucked the trend in the motor industry with a 5.5% rise in revenue in the last year, despite difficult trading conditions.
Of over 250 dealerships in the UK, the award is only presented to the top 35 that meet a number of stringent criteria which include measures that cover customer satisfaction and business performance.
The award follows a successful year of new product launches for Simon Bailes Peugeot, including the new Peugeot 308 and its ongoing success with eco-driving and its environmentally-friendly vehicles. As a result, Peugeot has chosen the business as one of the dealerships to help launch the brand’s new fully-electric van, the first of its kind in the UK, in May.
Simon Bailes said: “Our team is thrilled to be awarded this incredible accolade from Peugeot yet again. Ultimately, if we provide our customers fantastic service then they will want to do business with us again, which is what sustains our success year on year. We strive to always ensure they get the very best customer service from us and it is so rewarding for everyone to see them returning to the dealerships. We value our customers very highly, as friends of the business and would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their ongoing support.
“We firmly believe our strong company values which we have operated by for over 30 years set us apart from the competition and continually contribute to our success.”
Simon Bailes Peugeot was established in 1979 and employs around 105 people at its three dealerships across the region. The company operates an ethical trading policy focussing on five core values of customers, people, honesty, standards and profit which drive the daily operation of the business to ensure customer satisfaction along with staff and supplier engagement.
The company is one of the only car dealerships in the UK to hold the silver Investors in People status (IIP) in recognition for its customer service standards and its efforts to invest in its staff.
