Charles Church builds links with local rugby team
Evesham Rugby Football Club has kick started its 130th year by successfully scoring a sponsorship deal with the country’s leading luxury house builder.
Charles Church’s Orchards Place development, which is just a short distance from the Rugby club in Evesham, is funding the cost of branded rugby shorts that are worn by the Evesham 1st XV team at matches.
Evesham 1st XV, who opened the season in September, is just one of the rugby club’s four adult teams. The club also has thriving mini and junior teams made up of 300 children. The club said it chose to approach Charles Church thanks to the company’s strong presence in the area.
Roly Holt, Evesham Rugby Football Club’s Honorary Treasurer said: “With their Orchards Place development in close proximity to the club, and some of the players even living there, we felt it was a great opportunity to partner up with Charles Church.
“We’re delighted that Charles Church are sponsoring our 2013-14 season and are over the moon with how the new shorts have turned out.”
The house builder said they are honoured to have been approached to sponsor the talented team. Alison Reading, sales and marketing director at Charles Church South Midlands said: “We feel privileged to be involved with such an established local group that has served our community for many years. It is great to see the money going to a gifted team like Evesham 1st XV.”
