Top ten fundraiser's generosity recognised

Tilly Bailey & Irvine Solicitors has been among the most successful firms in the country in raising funds for the annual ‘Make a Will Month’ in support of Will Aid.

In the 2013 Will Aid campaign, Tilly Bailey & Irvine Solicitors raised £10,023 – it’s most successful campaign ever for the charity. This total made the firm the 2nd highest donating in North East England and the 10th most successful in the UK. Tilly Bailey & Irvine has participated in the campaign for many years by waiving its fees for drafting wills in return for a donation to Will Aid. The total raised by the firm to date stands at £43,944.

Carolyn Tilly, who heads Tilly Bailey & Irvine Solicitors’ Wills and Probate Department, was presented with a certificate recognising the company’s achievement by Mark Rounding, Legacy Relationship Manager (North) for Age UK. Carolyn said: “Our clients’ generosity always amazes us, especially when we know many in this area remain affected by the economic crisis. As well as raising funds, this campaign also raises awareness of the importance of making a will, and we’re delighted that over the years so many people have been prompted to make a will with us during Make A Will Month.”

Mark Rounding, from Age UK, added: “Tilly Bailey & Irvine Solicitors has supported Will Aid for many years, and Age UK and all the other charities are extremely grateful to everyone who is inspired by the campaign to make their will and make a very generous donation.These funds helpAge UK to continue our work, enabling and supporting older people so that everyone can make the most of later life.

Will Aid fundraises annually for nine charities; ActionAid, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, Age UK, NSPCC, Save The Children, Sciaf, Sightsavers and Trocaire. The 2013 campaign has so far raised over £1.75 million, a total which is expected to rise further.
