Science network accounts for more success

Business is burgeoning for an accountancy company after joining one of the UK’s most established innovation networks providing support for science, technology and engineering companies.

As a professional service provider, County Durham based Harlands Accountants were one of the first to become an Affinity member for NETPark Net two years ago. It is now looking to double income it has received via this programme to £100,000 in 2014.

Philip Murray, commercial director for Harlands, said: “It was clear from our first interaction with NETPark Net that it is a unique community where world class science and technology companies and individuals come together and the NETPark Net Affinity package allows Harlands to contribute to this exciting community. “We have brought our specialist expertise to help companies at all stages of development from those looking to start a new business or helping business owners to understand the financial requirements of their business to ensure it is successful and plays the right part in their life.”

NETPark Net is a virtual innovation network, providing a wealth of expertise and advice to support the region’s growing cluster of science and technology businesses and is delivered by Business Durham, the economic development company for Durham County Council. It already has over 350 active member companies and organisations operating in the science, technology and engineering fields.

“Affinity provides the ideal platform for professional service companies such as Harlands to interact with the North East’s science and technology community providing members with access to expertise and knowledge on demand through regular seminars, clinics, online discussions and blogs.”
