Sheffield accountants become latest sponsor of South Yorkshire International Trade Centre
A Sheffield Chartered Accountancy practice has become the latest sponsor of the South Yorkshire International Trade Centre (SYITC).
UHY Hacker Young, based on Broadfield Way, originated in Sheffield in 1907, when Frederick J Slater and Co. was formed. It later became Wingfield Slater, and in their centenary year in 2007, joined the UHY network.
Nick Patrick, international trade manager at SYITC, said: “UHY Hacker Young recognises the importance of international expansion to SMEs, and with a network expanding to nearly 90 countries they will be a real asset to businesses we work with.
“Throughout its long history, UHY has focussed on small and medium sized enterprises, recognising the need for specialist advice provided by experienced professionals. This is especially true for those companies which choose to trade overseas.”
UHY Hacker Young join law firm Hill Dickinson, freight management company 512, the Sheffield International Freight Terminal and corporate travel management company Good Travel Management in becoming a sponsor of SYITC.
Nick added: “At SYITC we are keen to build partnerships which will provide real added value to businesses looking to grow through exports.
“We now have a good mixture of international trade suppliers on board to provide professional expertise to companies across the Sheffield City Region.”
Andrew Hulse, a partner at UHY Hacker Young, said: “We work with companies which are either making their first move into overseas markets or are more experienced with international trade, so it makes perfect sense to join forces with SYITC.
“Expanding a business with exports is a big step and UHY Hacker Young can provide the practical support and advice during the entire process.
“Through our cohesive global network, UHY International, we have a presence in every major financial centre around the world. We can introduce businesses to commercially focussed audit, accounting and tax professionals who can provide on-going advisory services to new overseas operation.”
