Castleford cheesemonger teams up with Jet2 and Leeds Bradford Airport for France trade mission
A Yorkshire cheesemonger was supported by airline Jet2 and Leeds Bradford International Airport in a trade mission to France for the Grand Depart.
Cheese specialists Cryer and Stott went on a cheese-finding mission with the help of the airport and airline, to source cheeses to mark the traditionally French cycling event.
Richard Holmes, the director of Cryer and Stott, based in Allerton Bywater, Castleford – and business development manager, Jemma Flowers, visited six French towns and cities, which are twinned with Yorkshire towns for the Grand Depart.
During their adventure the duo showcased some of Yorkshire’s most iconic cheeses while collecting some of France’s finest fromage for a range of special cheese tasting masterclasses back on home ground.
Commenting on the trip, Richard said: “This started as a bit of fun, but some other Yorkshire companies got wind of our idea and it’s just snowballed.
“We’re really lucky to have secured some fantastic partners in the form of Leeds Bradford Airport and Jet2.com, it’s their involvement that has made our “cheese dream” come true!”
