Sheffield branding firm takes the drivers seat with new car dealership client
A Sheffield branding business has taken the driving seat in styling the brand for used car dealership Mike Brewer Motors.
Design and branding agency Tonik was tasked with creating a new look for the car dealership which is headed up by television presenter Mike Brewer.
Tonik, based at Aizlewood Business Centre in Sheffield, used a combination of “colour psychology” and commercial know-how to devise the new brand identity.
Tonik was founded in late 2013 by Sarah Simpkins. Creative director Sarah is a self-taught graphic designer with over 13 years’ worth of marketing, commercial and creative experience. Sarah has owned businesses since 2005 when she first moved into the creative design sector.
Sarah runs Tonik with her business partner Joe Morris, Commercial Director, who joined Sarah’s previous business in 2008 as Studio Manager.
Sarah, said: “Working with Mike Brewer Motors has been a challenging and exciting project. The business wanted to move away from the traditional feel of a used-car showroom, so that’s exactly what we did.
“We were all very pleased with the result and so was the client, which is exactly what we aim to achieve.”
John Tustin, director at Mike Brewer Motors, which is based on Bramall Lane, Sheffield, said: “We felt it was important to reflect the ambition of the company as well as conveying the high service standards that drive the success of our business. We also needed a brand identity that could easily be rolled out across new Mike Brewer Motors sites throughout the UK.
“Tonik achieved all of these things, and more. Customers constantly comment on how refreshing our image is and how approachable and relaxing our car showroom is.
“The branding that Tonik created is crisp, clear and different, helping us to stand out from the usual car market.”
Mike Brewer Motors has recently celebrated its first year of successful trading, reporting record sales in March. Plans for a second dealership are in discussion.
