Construction firm strengthens management team

CONSTRUCTION company Gus Robinson Developments has strengthened its management team as it looks to grow its influence in the housing sector.

Kevin Henderson has re-joined the Hartlepool-based business as its Operations Director, following several years working for housing company Vela Group.

The appointment is a return to the company where Kevin learned his trade as a joiner, foreman, site manager and contracts manager.

He said: “I first came to Gus Robinson Developments when I was in my 20s and was here for the best part of 30 years, learning my trade and progressing through different roles.

“It’s a business I know very well so I am delighted to be back looking after the operations side of our major building projects in addition to overseeing the electrical, plumbing and mechanical contracts.

“This is a role I am excited about and it’s a great opportunity as the business looks more towards building homes and identifying larger-scale developments.”

Kevin, who is 53 and from Hartlepool, is a specialist in health and safety for the construction sector and will be responsible for streamlining procedures within Gus Robinson Developments to establish one point of contact for the firm’s operational sites and project teams.

His progress from joiner to director reflects the company’s ethos of developing the skills and experience of its staff and giving them a platform to progress to the highest level.

Kevin added: “This is a business that genuinely believes that people are its greatest asset and the sky is the limit for anyone who wants to develop a rewarding career. I’m a clear example of that.”

The appointment of Kevin Henderson comes just a few weeks after Gus Robinson Developments recruited Steve Bell as its Land and Development Director and Dave Cutler as Electrical Manager; as the construction sector continues to show signs of recovery in the UK.
