Blaydon artisan food producer scoops contract to supply top regional hotel

A Blaydon-based food producer has secured their first supply contract with a four star hotel in the North East.

55 year-old Liz Harding-Massey from Blaydon launched Eliza Pepperpot using family recipes learnt from her mother, and is now set to supply the Newcastle Gateshead Marriott Hotel MetroCentre.

Liz will provide locally produced jams, preserves, chutneys and chocolates to the hotel’s guests.

She said: “I am absolutely thrilled that a hotel brand as prestigious and established as Marriott wants to use my products.

“I am very keen to use local and seasonal products whenever possible and am really happy that the Marriott has the same ethos.

“The Chef has given me incredible feedback from his diners already which is giving me great confidence in my new business and hopefully will be the first of many new contracts.”

Raoul Lemmerling, general manager, added: “We were introduced to Eliza Pepperpot products and straight away we knew they would make a great addition to not only our special North East menu but also to our food offering in general. The fact that Eliza Pepperpot Fine Foods products are made just a few miles away in Blaydon is a real bonus.”
