Dental specialists join forces in a £2 million Harewood mansion revamp

Four leading dental professionals have joined forces to open a £2 million centre of excellence in Yorkshire.

Offering dentistry treatments and also training for dentists across the country, Dental Excellence is operating out of a mansion house in the grounds of Harewood Estate located between Leeds and Harrogate.

Nearly £2 million has been invested to convert the once derelict property and provide a new establishment for “dental excellence.”

Dentists Donald Sloss, Mark Willings, Jon Swarbrigg and clinical dental technician Mark Price met at a conference in Germany they discussed how they could combine these skills to offer multidisciplinary treatment, no matter how complex, under one roof.

With a helicopter landing pad within the Harewood estate it is likely that some patients will fly in for treatment.

Donald Sloss who was one of the first dentists in the country to become a fellow in General Dental Practice of the Royal College of Surgeons in England and won ‘Dentist of the Year’ in 2011 said: “With our joint expertise and state of the art equipment we are able to offer all of the latest advances in dental treatment that is unbeatable worldwide.

“Our centre focuses on the more complex dental procedures including advanced restorative dentistry, cosmetic restorations, orthodontics, endodontics and dental implants.

“The market for complex and intricate dentistry is growing in the UK. A few years ago it was all about veneers but there are now much more conservative options for patients that may need treatment following trauma or simply for cosmetic purposes.

“With the expertise and technology that we now have in place it is possible for patients to visit and walk out with a new smile within the same day.

“But it’s not just about complex and seemingly expensive treatment. Some of our life changing treatments can cost just a few hundred pounds.”

A significant part of the offer at Dental Excellence is the educational facility which is open to dentists and other dental professionals locally and nationally.

Training courses are available to dentists covering complex procedures through to customer service and marketing to assist with developing their own practice.

There are facilities for live demonstrations with highly experienced educators leading the sessions.

Market leading product developers and manufacturers, which regularly call upon the partners of Dental Excellence for product trialling and expert feedback during development stages, are booking use of the facility for demonstrations.
