World’s largest shipping line partners with IFB
Maersk Line has been confirmed as a partner of the International Festival for Business 2014.
The world’s largest shipping line will be supporting the Festival throughout June and July - the only shipping company officially involved with the event.
Maersk Line will provide the Festival with a customised container which will be used as the visitor registration point in the IFB Hub on Liverpool’s iconic waterfront.
The IFB forms a central part of the UK Government’s goal of rebalancing the economy and doubling British exports by 2020.
Brian Godsafe, managing director for Maersk Line UK and Ireland, said: “The International Festival for Business is a great showcase for the UK.
“As a container line working with some of the UK’s biggest businesses, we are delighted to be supporting an event which will promote commerce and help grow exports. The festival’s choice of Liverpool as a venue, with its maritime heritage, and our own historic place in the UK shipping industry make this partnership a perfect fit.”
Max Steinberg CBE, chair of IFB 2014, said: “Liverpool’s international reputation was built upon its shipping and maritime industry – a sector which is once again of huge importance to the city.
“One of the Festival’s avowed objectives is to help companies build international connections and trade, so we are delighted to have Maersk as a partner.”
