Vivark invests in community with new vehicle fleet

Facilities management company and social enterprise Vivark has launched a new fleet of vehicles using a community supplier network, creating strong employment and environmental benefits for local businesses.

Vivark, which is part of the First Ark Group, has handed out contracts totalling £500,000 to a number of companies local to its Knowsley base, demonstrating its social purpose and commitment to reinvesting capital into the borough.

The contracts, which include vehicle repairs and maintenance, tyre service, livery, servicing, MOTs, washing and warranty work, will ensure retained employment for workers in local businesses over the next five years.

Prior to the fleet’s launch, Vivark had been operating from a range of different vehicles with no universal brand representation. The unified fleet now allows all operatives to undertake Vivark’s award winning facilities management services from efficient, high quality branded vehicles.

Tony Cahill, executive director at Vivark, said:“Community investment is at the heart of everything we do and because of this, where possible, we choose to work with local companies every time.

“It’s very rewarding for us to be able to secure employment for local people for the next five years and also do our bit to help the environment, with suppliers not having to travel as far for repairs and emergency call-outs.”

Barry Lindsay, director at Tyrewise, said: “As a local company, it’s great to build up links with other likeminded businesses that support services within the borough. Not only is it encouraging for the workforce who live within the community, it’s a positive example to set other companies based within the city which currently outsource on a national level.”

Vivark will also be working together with its new suppliers to find additional ways it can add value to the local community.
