DSL Awarded 2014 ROSPA President’s Award

Deborah Services Limited (DSL), specialists in non-mechanical construction equipment, has had its approach to occupational health and safety recognised by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) with The President’s award.

The President’s award is prestigious as it’s only presented to companies who have achieved 10 consecutive gold awards. The RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards 2014 will be presented during a ceremony at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel, at the National Exhibition Centre, on May 14, 2014.

The RoSPA Awards scheme is the largest and longest-running programme of its kind. It recognises commitment to accident and ill health prevention/reduction and is open to businesses and organisations of all types and sizes from across the UK and overseas. The scheme not only looks at accident records but also entrants’ health and safety management including important factors such as strong leadership and workforce involvement.

Group SHEQ[i] manager for DSL, Neill Moffat says: “Being awarded The RoSPA President’s award for 2014 demonstrates how we continually strive to lift the bar when it comes to working towards excellence in occupational health and safety. David Rawlins, RoSPA’s awards manager, said: “The RoSPA awards encourage the raising of occupational health and safety standards across the board. Organisations that gain recognition for their health and safety management systems such as Deborah Services Limited, contribute to a collective raising of the bar for other organisations to aspire to, and we offer them our congratulations.”

The majority of RoSPA’s awards are non-competitive, grading achievement at merit, bronze, silver and gold levels. Organisations that maintain high standards in consecutive years can win gold medals, president’s awards and orders of distinction.

Competitive awards are presented in more than 20 industry sectors and they also recognise excellence in specialist areas, such as the management of occupational road risk (MORR).
