Fitness pair invest in North Shields strength and conditioning gym
A pair of North East fitness entrepreneurs have invested £60k in a strength and conditioning gym based on Norham Road in North Shields.
Michael Warren and Andrew Douglas have opened FSI Gym (Functional Strength Institute) and will bring their combined years of fitness experience to the facility.
Andrew said: “With our background and experience our aim is to run FSI into one of Europe’s leading strength and conditioning gyms.
“The new gym is the result of many years of hard work, research and planning. We have travelled around the world to help with specific aspects of the business, the end result being a truly world class facility.
“What makes FSI Gym a standout facility and leading strength and conditioning gym is both the facility including the vast range of equipment, but also the experience and expertise of the coaches.”
Andrew Douglas has over 10 years’ experience in the fitness industry and is a certified UKSCA (UK Strength and Conditioning Association) Coach and the highly accredited qualification certified Nutrition Precision Coach.
He has worked with a variety of athletes, sport teams and clients over the last 5 years.
Michael Warren has been in the fitness industry for over 17 years working in a variety of roles and organisations including 2achieve personal training and Extreme Strength and Conditioning.
With an honours degree and HND in sport science, Michael is a certified personal trainer and is a certified Westside Barbell Strength Coach, one of the only few in Europe. Michael is also a keen fitness writer with 20 published international magazine articles.
He currently coaches UFC athlete Andy Ogle of Tynemouth, who is using it as a training base for his next UFC fight in Berlin against Maximo Blanco.
Michael said: “We have worked really hard in bringing a world class facility to the North East. The fact that we attract professional athletes is a great indication that we are doing something right, however, we also want to make this accessible to others and provide a different way to train than your typical leisure gym.”
In the last month FSI Gyms Ltd have also launched their franchise programme and introduced their own education programme Elite Performance Education and their own online broadcast FSI TV.
