Nicholson Consultancy move to Aycliffe Industrial Park

Nicholson Consultancy, the business improvement specialist, has relocated its operations to the heart of County Durham’s growing industrial landscape.

The firm’s new office is based at Evans Business and Incubation Centre on the Aycliffe Industrial Park, which is already the location of choice for major manufacturing and engineering companies such as Ebac, Gestamp, and 3M.

The Newton Aycliffe site will become home for the company’s Managing Director Andrew Nicholson and non-executive directors Ian Batchelor and Angela Robson, previously based in Birtley, and will provide a hub for the company’s network of associate consultants and trainers.

Established in 2000, Nicholson Consultancy is an independent management consultancy and training organisation. It specialises in major company-wide improvement programmes and delivers tailored training, practical consultancy and hands on support for manufacturers.

The company has consulted for blue-chip multinationals like BP Chemicals, Husqvarna and Gestamp, but also works with small owner-managed and family businesses, from industrial giants like Sheffield Forgemasters to independent jam-makers York Speciality Foods. Nicholson Consultancy is accredited to deliver the Lean Consortium programme and works closely with the Manufacturing Advisory Service.

Andrew Nicholson said: “This is a very exciting time for Nicholson Consultancy. To be based in an area that will soon be home to Hitachi and already boasts ambitious companies such as Ebac makes it an incredibly vibrant and industry-led location.

“Relocating has proved to be a very good strategic decision, being at the centre of County Durham’s industrial operations has allowed us to form closer relationships with key players in the industry.

“Our new site on Aycliffe industrial park has given us a real opportunity to continue the growth of our business within the area. We have some excellent purpose-built training facilities on-site and will be offering our own unique range of short courses, modular training programmes and “drop-in” sessions for local manufacturers.”
