Leeds fashion logistics firm wins contract with German fashion brand

Clipper have extended a retail fulfilment and returns handling contract with leading German fashion brand, s.Oliver.

The contract will be serviced from two of Clipper’s German bases and ensure faster availability of stock to stores, whilst optimising the pre-retail handling process.

The contract will see Clipper handle the retailer’s goods, by storing, picking, packing and processing them to a sale ready condition, ahead of distribution across Europe.

The fashion retailer’s garments will be delivered to retail outlets in Austria, Belgium and The Netherlands as well as throughout Germany.

Another element of the contract will see Clipper use their industry leading reverse logistics expertise to process s.Oliver returns back into stock and get them into inventory as soon as possible.

An s.Oliver spokesperson said: “This deal will allow s.Oliver to further optimise the supply chain process and ensure greater customer service.

“Clipper has shown the innovation needed to meet the demands of our pan-European fashion business and we’re looking forward to working together on this contract as our business continues to develop.”

Jürgen Wey, managing director of Clipper Logistics GmbH. said: “s.Oliver are a well established and respected name in the fashion industry and we’re delighted to have been appointed to this contract to aid the development of the brand.

“We’ll bring our unique mix of ability and agility to the contract and our expertise in European logistics will combine with our extensive experience in fashion supply chain to offer a best-in-class solution.”

The contract will be serviced from two of Clipper’s five German sites, Münchberg and Hof, with a workforce of 110 people working on the s.Oliver brand.

Initially, the operation will use 300,000sqft of space and will employ 8 dedicated vehicles to facilitate deliveries.
