Success for Vivark with two new contracts

Facilities management company and social enterprise Vivark has won two contracts with Knowsley Housing Trust (KHT) following a competitive three-way tender process.

With a combined value of £350,000, the two contracts have been awarded to Vivark, part of the First Ark Group, for its facilities management expertise across property maintenance and refurbishment works.

Vivark will start work on the first contract in April, which involves replacing and enhancing first floor Juliet balconies on 75 two-storey flats in Kirkby.

As part of a continued programme of improvements, Vivark’s work will enable tenants to fully open their balcony doors, allowing for a more comfortable and modern living environment.

The second contract win, which will begin in May, will require Vivark to carry out work on three mid-rise communal blocks in Prescot. The contract will involve fitting new door entry systems, ceramic tiling, floors, steps, handrails, windows, lighting and replacing the main entrance and exit doors of each block.

As well as the improved aesthetics of the buildings, the work undertaken by Vivark will also improve the security of the flats and make for a more homely environment for residents.

In addition to the three communal blocks, KHT has also presented Vivark with the opportunity to work on a further seven blocks, upon successful completion of the first wave of work – adding an additional £220,000 to the project value.

Tony Cahill, executive director at Vivark, said: “Securing the two contract wins against tough industry competition is fantastic recognition for our experienced team and establishes Vivark as the facilities management provider of choice.

“As part of our continued commitment to improving the communities in which we work, Vivark has taken on two new local employees to help fulfil the work contracted by KHT and will also be recruiting for further direct labour operatives in the coming months.”
