Lending a hand in Lowick

Northumberland Wildlife Trust’s North Northumberland Wildlife Watch Group has been busy transforming a patch of land in Lowick, donated by the Parish Council, into a wonderful wildlife garden.

Using saplings, sourced and grown in the UK, and donated by the Woodland Trust, the Group had a busy session of planting over the course of two days, with adults and children alike working together to create a wildlife hedge which will provide a valuable source of food and shelter as well as a wonderful nesting place for birds and other species.

Group leader, Harvest Harris-Jones, has great plans for the site, which will be implemented over the forthcoming months, and will form the basis of her monthly group sessions, which take place the second Sunday of every month.

From the creation of a bog garden to bulb planting and creating homes for visiting wildlife, there really will be something for everybody to enjoy, so why not give Harvest Harris-Jones a call on: 01289 388867 and find out how you can join?
