Ennsub land multi-million pound contract to build ultra-deepwater ROVs

Subsea engineers Ennsub, who have Sedgefield NETPark operations, have secured a multi-million pound contract to supply two ultra-deepwater ROV (remote operated vehicle) systems.

The firm will design and manufacture the systems to be used on a new vessel belonging to oil and gas subsea construction specialists Ceona.

It will take Ennsub around six months to fulfil the contract before the systems are due to be installed on Ceona’s Amazon vessel in the third quarter of this year, before launching into operation in January 2015.

The contract, with ROV service provider ROVOP, follows a five-year agreement between ROVOP and Ceona to provide hydraulic, ‘work-class’ services to the company’s deepwater pipelaying and construction vessels.

Aberdeen-headquartered Ennsub have recently invested £500k in their NETPark production facility.
