EventServ UK wins a gold RoSPA award

A UK-based company which provides infrastructure solutions to some of the UK’s leading promoters and event management companies has had its approach to occupational health and safety recognised by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) for the second year running.

EventServ, part of the Siteserv group, has won a gold award in the annual scheme run by RoSPA which will be presented during a ceremony at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel, at the National Exhibition Centre, on May 14, 2014.

The RoSPA Awards scheme is the largest and longest-running programme of its kind. It recognises commitment to accident and ill health prevention/reduction and is open to businesses and organisations of all types and sizes from across the UK and overseas.

The scheme not only looks at accident records but also entrants’ health and safety management including important factors such as strong leadership and workforce involvement.

Paul Griffin, managing director at EventServ, says: “The event industry is always scrutinised for its health and safety record and we all hear when it goes wrong. Ensuring everyone is safe is a top priority.

“We are continually striving to ensure health and safety remains at the forefront of every project and with a highly-trained team, SHEQ – safety, health, environment and quality is part of EventServ’s culture. Whilst we flex to our clients’ needs, safety is always non-negotiable.”

The majority of RoSPA’s awards are non-competitive, grading achievement at merit, bronze, silver and gold levels. Organisations that maintain high standards in consecutive years can win gold medals, president’s awards and orders of distinction.

David Rawlins, RoSPA’s awards manager, said: “The RoSPA awards encourage the raising of occupational health and safety standards across the board. Organisations that gain recognition for their health and safety management systems such as EventServ, contribute to a collective raising of the bar for other organisations to aspire to, and we offer them our congratulations.”

Competitive awards are presented in more than 20 industry sectors and they also recognise excellence in specialist areas, such as the management of occupational road risk (MORR).
