Ashington floral designer lands Chatsworth House contract

An Ashington-based floral designer has secured work decorating the Duke of Devonshire’s stately home, Chatsworth House.

La Sweet Boutique owner Carole King will work on the project in May, alongside Derbyshire-based Jonathan Moseley and Northumbrian, Danielle Webster.

Carole supplies floral displays, including corporate and wedding packages, and has recently worked with the UK Miss Galazy Pageant and a red carpet ball in aid of St Oswalds Hospice.

The entrepreneur has received support from the free Business Northumberland initiative, jointly funded by Arch, The Northumberland Development Company, Northumberland County Council and the ERDF.

Carole said: “I cannot believe how much La Sweet Boutique has achieved since we started, already we have a number of loyal customers and have worked for high profile events such as Newcastle’s own Miss Junior Galaxy and Miss Teen Great Britain in Blackpool. Business Northumberland have been great in helping us get started and making it happen!”

Business Northumberland business advisor, Ian Coull, added: “We’re thrilled with the progress made by Carole and La Sweet Boutique so far, she has done extremely well to win so much work and cater for so many events already. We’re sure she has a colourful future ahead of her!”

Carole will also be featuring at the free ‘Start your Business 2014’ networking event on Saturday April 26 at Woodhorn museum, telling her story so far with other emerging and proven Northumbrian entrepreneurs. Others joining the initiative include Hugo Douglas of Plum of London, Stephen and Rachel Miller of Smile Through Sport, Paul Walsh of Trunk Reclaimed and Kate Dawson of the All-In-One-Company amongst many others.
