Cheshire legal services company enjoying rapid growth

Cheshire-based X-Press Legal Services Group has enjoyed a 60 per cent increase in business in the first three months of 2014.

The firm, which has its headquarters at Birchwood in Warrington, supplies property-related search documents for solicitors and conveyancers nationwide.

Director Dave Lister attributes this period of rapid growth to its increased visibility.

The firm now employs 19 staff, and runs 36 franchises across the UK. Turnover is currently around £6.5 million, and Mr Lister is confident that figure will grow by a further £2 million by the end of the financial year.

He set up the company 14 years ago, with his wife Lynne the Managing Director.

Mr Lister is convinced X-Press Legal’s unprecedented growth is largely due to its strategic marketing activity, rather than any improvement in the overall economy.

He said: “The biggest impact comes from our commitment to Law Plain and Simple, the free to use legal advice website that we set up for the benefit of the general public a little while ago.

“The site has drastically improved our visibility, making many more people aware of who we are and what we do.

“Law Plain and Simple attracts lawyers from across the country and overseas, as well as a great many people who use it for some insight into legal issues.

“The site’s on-line weekly discussion forum ‘The Legal Hour’ attracts many thousands of visitors to the website, all of whom are then introduced to X-Press Legal.

“Our on-going marketing campaign has also made a significant impact on our visibility, especially our Sky Sports Super League investment in advertising at rugby and football grounds across the country.

“That campaign is directly aimed at the general public, many of whom will need the services that we supply when moving house.”
