ACL expands at Princes Dock development

Peel has announced that Atlantic Container Line (ACL), the North Atlantic container and Ro Ro shipping specialists, have expanded their Liverpool operation at Princes Dock, Liverpool Waters.

The organisation has taken a further 4,600 sq ft at the Grade A office development located on Liverpool’s Waterfront, to accommodate growing staff numbers.

As a result of this letting ACL are now in occupation of a total of 17,600 sq ft in No. 8 Princes Dock, which provides stunning views over the River Mersey and into Princes Dock.

Ian Higby, managing director at ACL, said: “We needed to find some extra space pretty quickly and being able to add to our existing space here at Princes Dock was the perfect solution. We are grateful to Peel for being able to react in double quick time to provide the additional space we required.”

DTZ represented ACL, whilst CBRE and Keppie Massie acted on behalf of Peel. ACL are a specialised carrier of containers, project and oversized cargo, heavy equipment and vehicles with the world’s largest Roll-on Roll-off/Containerships.

There are over 2,500 people employed within Princes Dock with occupiers including Coutts Bank, PricewaterhouseCoopers and KPMG. All occupiers benefit from on-site car parking, 24 hour security services, dedicated on-site maintenance team, on-site member health and leisure club, nursery, newsagents, ATM, coffee shop, bars and restaurants and numerous on-site events.

In addition to three Grade A office buildings, Princes Dock is home to two high quality hotels; the Crowne Plaza and Malmaison, three luxury apartment towers and a 760 space multi storey car park.

Princes Dock, Liverpool Waters is a hub of business activity set in 14.5 hectares, situated within the £7 billion redevelopment scheme of Liverpool waterfront; Liverpool Waters, which received Central Government approval for the planning permission in

March 2013. The Liverpool Waters vision involves regenerating a 60 hectare historic dockland site to create a world-class, high-quality, mixed use waterfront quarter in central Liverpool.
