Approval granted for Liverpool’s Anfield Regeneration Framework

Liverpool City Council’s Cabinet has given the green light to the Anfield Strategic Regeneration Framework (SRF) report.

This sets out the planning framework for development in the Anfield area of the city which could trigger a series of planning applications required to deliver the £260 million regeneration of the area.

Following public consultation and consideration of subsequent feedback, a revised draft of the SRF report has been agreed by the City Council Cabinet.

Mayor of Liverpool Joe Anderson said: “Following the announcement of Liverpool Football Club’s plans for the stadium development, the agreement of the SRF is a further significant step in the process of delivering on our promises to the people of Anfield and the wider community.

“Cabinet’s approval shows that we are working tirelessly to deliver this important project and a brighter Anfield is coming.”

The Anfield project is being led by a partnership of Liverpool City Council, Liverpool Football Club and Your Housing Group.

The planning applications would cover proposed new developments such as new housing, business and retail premises, a hotel, new public space, a proposed expansion of Liverpool FC’s stadium and a range of new community facilities in the area, including in Stanley Park.
