Firm implements growth strategy with key appointments
North West Law Firm, Hillyer McKeown, have announced that they have implemented the first stages of their new five year growth strategy with a series of appointments and a key promotion.
Last month the law firm, who have offices in Birkenhead, Chester and Deeside, announced that they have their sights set on achieving ‘considerable growth’ with a plan that will see them expand across the North West and North Wales.
According to Managing Partner, Steve Harvey, ‘The firm is now starting to demonstrate its commitment to recruiting talent that fits within the defined plans and shared values of the company, by announcing 3 new appointments and a promotion across the Commercial Property, Debt Recovery and Company Commercial departments.’
Michael Wright has been appointed as Associate Solicitor within the Commercial Property Team bringing with him extensive commercial experience specialising in non-contentious property matters.
Joining Michael is Simone Barry who has joined the firm as a Legal Executive with the Company Commercial team. Simone has returned to the legal sector having served as a Director of a North West plant hire firm and will concentrate on the delivery of commoditised business legal services.
Specialist litigation solicitor Chris Harmer has been appointed as Head of Debt Recovery, bringing a solid background of debt recovery experience with him. Speaking about his appointment Chris said: “I’m pleased to have joined Hillyer McKeown at such an exciting time. Having previously undertaken work for large international corporates handling claims up to £16million through to SME and owner-managed businesses, I’m bringing with me an in-depth understanding of debt recovery and dispute resolution issues – which I feel will be crucial to not only assisting Hillyer McKeown clients with their legal issues, but also in being able to address such issues with a real sense of commerciality.”
Caroline Jones, who has been with the firm for 4 years, has been promoted to Head of Commercial Property.
Speaking about their latest appointments, Steve Harvey, Managing Partner, said: “The legal services market is undergoing great change and the lawyers we employ are encouraged to be dynamic and entrepreneurial. We wanted to raise the bar in terms of our expectations of our team and I am sure that Michael, Simone and Chris will demonstrate the right experience and attitude to meet that challenge. Our people are our most important asset and we invest carefully in the future of the firm and our people. Our vision is to develop and retain only the best talent within the North West and North Wales region in order to continue to position the firm for the future. We see opportunity to really focus in on our Clients needs and the work that Simone and Chris will do moving forward will help us to ensure that our business services for start ups and growing businesses are contemporary and the debt service seamlessly interacts with our clients’ credit control’.”
