New ‘Home’ for local entrepreneurs

It’s literally ‘home-from-home’ for Richard Bell and his wife Claire, as they launch Home Designer Outlet, at Royal Quays Outlet Centre, North Shields.

The store is set to be a huge hit with shoppers as it boasts up to 50% to 80% off high quality designer brands!

Whitley Bay native, Richard, said: “We have always talked about setting up our own store, it was all about choosing the right location. Having searched various premises, Royal Quays was the perfect destination.

“It’s very accessible and we were impressed by the footfall figures which definitely helped to draw us in! We work in the store alongside two other staff members and we are looking to recruit an extra person to manage the stock in our warehouse.

“We have some fantastic collections such as luxury beds, sofas, dining furniture, designer furniture and mirrors that we are sure will be very appealable to customers.

“We have settled in very well to life at the centre and look forward to offering customers a varied range of high quality products at discounted prices!”

Royal Quays Centre Manager, Judith Ramshaw, said: “We are delighted to welcome Home Designer Outlet to the centre, they are a great addition and look set to be a firm favourite with shoppers.

“As a centre we are always keen to support local business and Richard and Claire are prime examples of people who have the determination and ability to succed!

“Home Designer Outlet, complements and sits well alongside bigger brands such as M&S Outlet, Clarks and Nike Factory Store as well as our independents - enjoymuzic and the Pet Outlet all adding to the variety of choice for our customers.”

Royal Quays has 50 stores which employ around 300 staff, making it an important employment hub for the North Tyneside area.

It is home to a number of top brands offering up to 60% off RRP such as Marks & Spencer Outlet, Nike Factory Store, Gap Outlet, Clarks, Next and Mountain Warehouse, along with a vast range of local, independent retailers specialising in areas such as sport, fashion, jewellery, music and electrical items.

As well as attracting famous brands, since it was opened in 1996, Royal Quays has achieved great success in assisting local retailers looking to get to the next stage of their development.

Packages include competitive and flexible rent agreements that can be linked to store performance as well as expert advice from the on-site management team on marketing, shop design, presentation and sales.
