£6.6 million central Newcastle student accommodation project launched
North West developers Knight Knox International have launched plans to convert a former office block on St. James Boulevard into 110 student studio units.
In partnership with Fortis Developments, the firm will invest £6.6 million in the 30,000 sq ft office building to equip it with a gym, laundry room, bicycle storage and entertainment lounge.
Letting and management will be the responsibility of Fortis Student Living, who will be based on-site.
A planning application has now been submitted to Newcastle City Council and, if successful, Burgess House is expected to be operational by June 2015.
