Developers welcome new tenant to Port of Liverpool Building
Developer Downing has welcomed its latest tenant, marine and offshore industry recruitment and administration specialists, MNR, to The Port of Liverpool Building.
MNR, an independent company which carries out bespoke services for a global client base, is set to take a 1,179 sq ft suite in the prestigious building at the World Heritage Site, on a ten year lease.
The company, which was headquartered in Birkenhead, is relocating to the Port of Liverpool Building and will be moving into a corner suite, which features an impressive turret room. The suite has been fully stripped out and refurbished with raised floors and a floating ceiling in the turret room.
Robin Ellis from Downing, said: “The Port of Liverpool is one of the city’s most beautiful and majestic buildings and has a rich maritime heritage, so it’s fitting that our most recent occupier has such a strong connection with the maritime industry.
“The suite MNR has taken on is, as you would expect from this building, a very impressive and inspiring space and we’re delighted to welcome the company to the building, where it joins a number of global organisations.
“We worked in partnership with MNR to assess its fit out requirements and as a result of this the refurbishment included a bespoke office fit out. This is something many of our occupiers take advantage of, as it ensures their move is as seamless as possible.
“The Downing team has refurbished the office so that it matches MNR’s requirements perfectly and provides it with a great space from which to operate for many years to come.”
David Corlett, Director of MNR, said: “The Port of Liverpool Building is an extraordinary building with a rich heritage in nautical commerce and played a pivotal role in the UK’s maritime history, so it seemed like an appropriate location for MNR’s new headquarters.
“The new suite will provide us with a custom space which has been completely refurbished and transformed to meet the needs of our specialist team. It will provide them with a bespoke space in which to operate and enable us to better service our global client base in partnership with our colleagues in our Singapore office.
“The west coast ports are some of the UK’s most strategically important channels for global trade and this is a sector which is continuing to grow and thrive. The investment in Liverpool’s new super port signals the return of a golden age of shipping for the region and we’re looking forward to being at the heart of the action when Liverpool 2 opens next year.”
