Gateshead insurance outfit expand into Scotland
North East based insurance broker, NC Insurance, has expanded into Scotland and increased its team by seven, with further jobs on the horizon.
Nick Fletcher and Ryan Greenwell join the firm as broking assistants, while Lea Hillary, Craig Donnelly and Danny Herron join as account handlers and Suzanne Smith as account executive. The firm has also appointed James Watt as branch director in Scotland.
Mark Burdett, the sales and marketing director at NC Insurance, said: “From giving apprentices the opportunity to learn new skills and have a career, to the recruitment of highly experienced professionals, I am genuinely excited about the team we’re putting together and how our clients and business partners will benefit.
“We are committed to insurance excellence which is why we have and will continue to invest in staff with the experience, personalities and track record to deliver our clients with the highest levels of advice, service and support at all times.”
Gateshead-based NC Insurance, which is the longest established insurance broker in Tyne and Wear with 85 years worth of practice, has also had a cohort of staff members successfully pass a string of insurance examinations.
It aims to progress towards Chartered Status with three members completing their Certificate in Insurance, two part qualified and another three completing their Award in Insurance in the past month.
Brian Stonehouse, Education Secretary of the Insurance Institute of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, said: “The news that NC Insurance had so many staff pass this number of exams is phenomenal.
“It is unusual to see so many members of staff sit these exams, especially with 100% pass rate. This is a great example for other financial services firms in the area to follow so that they can demonstrate their own professionalism.”
In addition to the new staff members, NC Insurance launched a new website this month and is introducing ThirdSectorProtect, which aims to help charities, social enterprises and non-profit organisations.
