Gordons, Anjon Mallik
Yorkshire law firm Gordons has promoted construction specialist Anjon Mallik to junior equity partner.
Commenting on Mr Mallik’s promotion, Gordons managing partner, Paul Ayre, said: “Anjon thoroughly merits this recognition. He has always shown total commitment to the firm since he joined us in 2004 and it’s great to see him make this step.”
Carter Jonas, Sam Johnson
Property consultancy Carter Jonas which manages rural estates in Yorkshire, has further expanded its rural land and business team with the appointment of Sam Johnson, who will operate principally from the Harrogate office, as an associate.
Andrew Fallows, partner at Carter Jonas, said: “Last year’s successful merger with Peter Greenwood & Co strengthened our established business in the North and enabled us to offer clients a broader range of services, including consultancy on planning matters, strategic land and renewable energy. “The firm operates a successful land and farm agency team headed by Richard Liddiard in London. Sam’s appointment as principal contact in the North further strengthens our rural team and boosts the services we offer.
Sheffield international Venues, Simon Lewis
Simon Lewis, 22, has joined Sheffield International Venues (SIV) as commercial sales executive.
Simon said: “Working in events is something I’ve always been interested in and I’m now focused on applying my experience to the commercial sales team at SIV.
“My new role will involve utilising our venues such as Sheffield City Hall, Ponds Forge International Sports Centre and the English Institute of Sport Sheffield to develop partner brands through our local and national marketing platforms.
Direct Golf, Chris Clarke
PGA professional Chris Clarke is the new marketing co-ordinator at Direct Golf.
Chris said: “After three successful years in retail I am excited at the new challenge which enables me to use my marketing qualification and knowledge in golf retail to help expand the Direct Golf brand to continue its success in a highly competitive market.”
Direct Golf has 20 branches nationwide and was named ‘best mail order company’ for eight successive years in theToday’s Golfer reader awards.
The company, founded by John Andrew, a Class AA, PGA professional, in 1991, has enjoyed massive growth in 23 successful years of trading
Grant Thornton, Phil Whaley
Grant Thornton has strengthened its Northern corporate finance advisory practice with the return to Leeds of Phil Whaley.
Phil said: “This is a great opportunity for me to move back to my Yorkshire roots and play a key part in not just building our own business but also helping our clients realise their ambitions.
“As part of Grant Thornton’s Northern team, we have a strong presence throughout the region, and we are busier than we have been for a number of years executing deals and servicing clients across Yorkshire, the North East and the North West.”
