Walker Filtration turn to Synergi in major IT contract
Newly formed IT provider Synergi Information Technology has secured a deal with North East neighbours Walker Filtration, to provide consultancy serives amid an IT infrastructure overhaul.
Walker, the 220-employee strong manufacturing firm, have chosen Gateshead-based Synergi to assist in the roll out of Microsoft SharePoint software.
The investment is intended to support growth of Walker Filtration’s £25 million turnover business, and will provide improved customer document storage through a gradual move to cloud based technology.
Steve Palmer, IT manager at Walker Filtration, explained: “The business has successfully embarked on an ambitious growth strategy. Our IT and management systems need to be more efficient, robust, and flexible to handle the changes that are underway.
“Towards the end of last year we decided to implement Microsoft’s SharePoint software system, utilising some of the latest cloud technologies to help automate more of our systems and help people access documents and data from around different sites.
“The IT department and what we do is evolving, reflecting the growth journey of the business. To help implement some of the necessary changes, we needed a SharePoint expert so we turned to Synergi, a team of technology specialists who we’ve known for some time. Synergi understand latest technologies and are using them to deliver genuine business benefits.”
David Kaye, director at Synergi, added: “Our approach is proactive and business-benefit driven, givingbusinesses, large and small, faster, more reliable tools to actually focus on their business and not their IT problems.
“We’re at an early stage in an ambitious project with Walker Filtration. They recognise the value of matching technology with business objectives. We can help them on their journey and make the most of SharePoint and our apps, ensuring technology is actually moulded to actual business needs.”
