Executive recruitment business grows its new regional HQ
A fast-growing national executive recruitment agency has opened a North East regional office that has expanded after only two months.
Blackrock Executive Limited, which specialises in search and selection services for middle to senior management positions, has taken office space at Wilton Centre, the privately-owned 75 acre business and science park adjacent to the Wilton International site.
Originally intended as a base for the Divisional Manager for the North East region, since moving in at the start of February the company has already doubled its office space and appointed two new members of staff.
Shaun Muir, Blackrock’s North East manager, explained that the company was looking to establish a regional location to add to its Leeds head office and central London operations.
He commented: “We specialise in placing people in permanent positions at middle to senior management level in markets ranging from facilities management, construction and logistics to engineering, renewable energy and utilities, manufacturing and IT and telecoms.
“There are a number of established agencies in the area that offer temporary and off-shore positions but we believe there is a real gap in the market in this area for our services.”
Two new staff have just joined Blackrock’s north east team as Business Consultants to help grow and establish the business. Dominic Nelson, 24, from Hartlepool has a background insurance sales and Rhiannon Furniss, 26, from Redcar joins from the telesales industry.
Shaun adds: “They both have a fantastic opportunity by being with Blackrock at the beginning in the North East and the view is to build people around them in the coming months. The company has a policy for promoting from within, so ideally they will be the future managers of Blackrock.”
It was the plans for future growth for Blackrock’s North East office and the aim to expand the team further that influenced the choice of office location.
“The ability to easily take on more space as and when we need it is one of the reasons I opted to be based at Wilton Centre,” Shaun explained.
“It is also a very professional set-up with very good facilities and support that caters even for little details, such as a manned front desk and the office being cleaned every day, that make a big difference.
“Its location next to the Wilton site and the volume of business there and in the building are also a huge benefits. And being listed alongside blue chip names who are based here too also boosts our credibility.”
Adding an ambitious and successful new company to the list of Wilton Centre tenants further develops the Centre’s reputation as a prime location for businesses, according to site director, Steve Duffield.
“It is very encouraging that not only has Blackrock opted to be based here, but that it also has its eye on developing and expanding the business and the knock-on effect that will have for the region.”
