Free Seminar helps Landlords avoid Repossession Pitfalls

Some of the region’s litigation specialists are inviting landlords to get to grips with the procedures to follow if they need to recover possession of their property.

Tilly Bailey & Irvine Solicitors is holding a free seminar which aims to warn landlords of the risks they face when recovering their property from a tenant, whether the tenant has fallen into rent arrears, or if the reason for repossession is independent of the tenant.

Commercial Litigation Solicitors, Helen Williamson and Gemma Smith from Tilly Bailey & Irvine Solicitors, are presenting a free 90 minute seminar at the firm’s Wynyard offices on Tuesday May 13th, 2014. The seminar begins at 9am (with registration from 8.30am) and is followed by a question and answer session and networking at 10am. Places for the seminar are limited, and anyone interested should reserve by emailing vcornfield@tbilaw.co.uk.

Helen commented: “If a landlord gets it wrong, it can be a very costly mistake. Seeking professional advice is often perceived as the expensive route, but we’ve seen too many instances where do-it-yourself repossession by the landlord has proved costly, time-consuming and stressful. By helping landlords understand the correct way to proceed with such an action, we’re hoping to help them avoid unwanted and unnecessary expense.”
