Goole Fields wind farm sees last turbines delivered

Wind turbine farm Goole Fields in the East Riding of Yorkshire has received its last delivery of towers from Chepstow-based manufacturer Mabey Bridge.

The completed wind farm by RWE Innogy UK, which include sixteen Senvion125m tall wind turbines, will provide 32.8MW of power and is sited south of the A161 near the town of Goole.

It is predicted this will be enough electricity to meet the average annual needs of over 18,000 homes each year.

Mabey Bridge managing director Mark Coia said: “There has been much talk about an industry pivot towards offshore wind but Goole Fields is just one example that shows onshore wind is still alive and kicking.

“What’s more, the towers with which the turbines have been constructed were made in our Newhouse factory, giving another vote of confidence for the British renewables manufacturing sector”.

Senvion UK managing director Raymond Gilfedder added: “We are delighted that the last towers for Goole Fields have now been delivered, demonstrating our strong working relationship with Mabey Bridge and continuing our support for UK manufacturing.”

Deliveries of the Senvion turbines are slated for completion mid-month.
