French chef of Richard Branson launches private catering firm in Knaresborough
A professional French chef who relocated to Yorkshire has launched a new catering business in time for the arrival of Le Grand Départ.
Yves Quemerais, who now lives in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire, has set up French Chef at Home offering to cook authentic French food at people’s homes whether for a special private occasion, corporate function or a luxury night in.
All food is made from scratch and either cooked on the premises or simply prepared, and delivered chilled to your home to be reheated. Menus are bespoke and can be designed around a customer’s taste and ingredient preferences.
Yves, who trained under acclaimed chef Alain Ducasse, does everything from smoking his own fish to baking his own breads and can cater for groups of up to 50 people. He uses organic produce where he can.
Yves had been working in Paris as a private chef for governors, politicians and chief executives of large corporations – his most famous customer to date being Sir Richard Branson.
Yves said: “After working as a chef du cuisine for 25 years I felt it was time to set up on my own.
“It had always been a dream of ours to one day move to Yorkshire as we love the countryside, the people and of course the quality produce found here.
“Now I hope to share my passion for French cuisine and using the freshestproduce to prepareexceptional dishes such as boeuf bourguignon, cassoulet and bouillabaisse.”
