Get me to the church on time

Darren Poole, Dealer Principal at Stafford Land Rover, turned Wedding Planner, when he received a call from Mrs Chris Brown

“Chris is a customer of ours, but she wasn’t calling to book a service or chat about changing her car; she needed our help and fast. Chris runs Blithfield Lakeside Barns, beautiful holiday cottages; that weekend all the cottages were occupied by a large wedding party, which included the Bride and Groom.”

Not something that would normally involve Stafford Land Rover, however, Chris had received a panic all from the Groom, Tom Evans, on the Thursday, explaining he’d been badly let down by the company supplying the wedding transport for all the guests, (including the Bride and Groom), they’d pulled out of their contract at the eleventh hour.

Fortunately for Tom, his Bride, Gemma, was a bit of a Land Rover Defender fan, so he’d asked Chris if they could use the farm vehicles to transport the wedding party to church. Chris had agreed, but, she was worried as the vehicles are proper farm workhorses, meaning they’re well used, with somewhat muddy interiors!

“I received a call from Chris wanting to know if we rented cars out,” explained Darren, “Now we don’t rent out cars, but, there was no way I could let that Bride’s day be spoilt; I promised Chris we would help and then tasked Adam Smith, our Service Advisor, to come to the rescue.”

Adam ensured the dealership’s demonstrator Land Rover Defender was available and then got to work, decorating it with wedding ribbon and organising flowers for the interior.

“I wanted to make sure the Bride had the car she deserved and I must have done a good job, because I was invited to the wedding!”

Thanks to Stafford Land Rover Tom and Gemma got the church on time to become Mr and Mrs Evans, congratulations!
