Leeds menswear designer opens flagship store

A Leeds-based online menswear retailer has opened its flagship store in Leeds City Centre after receiving funding from a government-backed enterprise fund.

Frank Tailor, a designer and retailer of formal menswear previously based in Holbeck, secured a 5-figure sum from the Bradford based Business Enterprise Fund and will open their first store in the famous Corn Exchange in Leeds city centre.

The brand incorporates a growing collection of menswear including suits, shirts, ties, accessories and leather footwear and despite having only launched in 2013, boasts impressive sales figures and even more impressive reviews from customers.

Director Jamie Cooper said: “We are delighted to open the flagship Frank Tailor store in our hometown of Leeds, particularly in such an iconic building. We love this city and we are proud of it – it is even on our suits!”

“It is frustrating to be priced out of quality and forced into a false economy of buying cheaper suits, but having to do so more frequently”

“Wearing a well-fitted, quality suit should not be the privilege of the wealthy – and at Frank Tailor it’s not. It’s this commitment to affordable, stylish quality that has struck a chord with our customers and allowed us to develop somewhat of a niche in a market where those three words are usually mutually exclusive.”

“We have had an incredible response since we launched last year and with a great team behind us we are ideally placed to achieve our goal of having a Frank Tailor store in 3 cities within the next 5 years.”

Despite only launching the brand to market last year and opening their flagship store this year, the ambitious owners have a meticulously planned growth strategy in place,

Frank Tailor joins a growing number of independent retailers in the Corn Exchange, which has seen significant renovations over the last few years and now represents one of Leeds’ most popular shopping destinations alongside the recently completed Trinity development.
