Maxwell unveiled as headline speaker at PA:PM event
One of the West Midlands best known female entrepreneurs will headline the first PA:PM event of 2014 it was announced today.
Angela Maxwell, a former Director of Fracino and current MD of business support specialist Acuwomen, has been invited to speak at the exclusive event aimed at the region’s personal and executive assistants.
The networking group, which will meet at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre on May 19th, will hear why PAs and EAs need to embrace continual learning and development, as their roles become increasingly important to the success of the organisations they represent.
They will also receive a personal insight from Angela on the type of ‘support’ that is most valued by today’s business leaders, as well as hearing the results of a recent survey on the type of networking opportunities they want to see.
“Everyone is having to take more work on and time is becoming increasingly precious…having the right personal or executive assistant backing you up is priceless,” explained Angela, who received an OBE for services to business in 2007.
“In order to keep up with the demands placed on them, PAs and EAs need to ask for more training opportunities and shouldn’t be afraid to take the next step on their careers.”
She went on to add: “They are absolutely crucial to the success of the West Midlands business community and this networking group will give them a forum to discuss their requirements, experiences and expectations.”
This is the first PA:PM since the formation of a new focus group to look at the format of these events.
It reflects the call for a greater emphasis on career development and also in attracting high profile entrepreneurs to talk about the current business landscape and the type of issues facing them.
Mary Hendry, Managing Director of Key, continued: “We’re really looking to get this year’s events off to a flying start and are delighted to secure one of the most influential female business leaders in the UK.
“Angela has achieved so much in her career, from transforming cappuccino coffee machine manufacturer Fracino into a global success story to her role supporting the entrepreneurs of the future.
“It will be great to get an insight into her experiences and what makes her tick…we’re expecting the Q&A session to be very lively.”
Over 40 people have already signed up to PA:PM with places are still available. Anyone attending this session will also receive an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the recently re-developed Birmingham Repertory Theatre.
Tickets for this event, which starts at 5.30pm, are priced at £10 per attendee including drinks and light refreshments. If you would like to reserve places, email maryhendry@keypersonnel.co.uk
