Entrepreneurs create 12 jobs with lazer gaming venture

A tio of North East entrepreneurs have launched a lazer battle game venute from premises on Team Valley, following bank funding.

Kevin Waugh, Roy Bradley and Mark Robertson secured funding from Barclays to launch the 15,000 sq ft Battlezone Lazer facility, which is expected to turnover £500k in its first year.]

Kevin Waugh, director of Battlezone Laser said: “It’s been an exciting venture pulling together the business plans with my co-directors and we are confident that the thrills, spills, fun and action will be a winner with people of all ages from across the North East.

“We’ve already had fantastic feedback from our visitors who are provided with everything from instruction and supervision to weapons and army clothing.”

Kevin Barry, business manager at Barclays said: “This is one of the most exciting business launches I’ve worked with and it’s been great to see the plans progress and come to fruition.

“The directors have a wealth of experience between them and have used this to tap into the current phenomenon of gaming – taking the thrills to the next level. It’s been very rewarding working with the team and we look forward to seeing this innovative business progress.”
