Significant investment in new waste vehicles
A Cumbria waste management and recycling company has invested almost half a million pounds on a fleet of new vehicles.
The 26-tonne commercial waste collection vehicles purchased by Cumbria Waste Group (CWG) will operate from Kendal servicing over 2,000 customers throughout South Cumbria and the Lake District.
The three Dennis Eagle Elite vehicles feature state of the art technology including enhanced safety features and the latest Euro 6 environmental specification with reduced emissions.
These are the first vehicles to sport the new CWG logo, following the amalgamation of the Cumbria Waste Management and Cumbria Waste Recycling brands.
John Walmesley, CWG’s Collections and Recycling Director, said: “This represents a significant investment to the company but they are needed to replace the ageing vehicles that currently serve our customers in the South Lakes.
“These new vehicles will enable us to continue to provide the high quality service people have come to expect of us and at the same time minimise our impact on the environment.
“With the new branding they will certainly catch the eye when they are on the roads in the South Lakes.”
