Liverpool ONE preparing for IFB delegates to Dock
The Liverpool ONE shopping centre has welcomed the city centre’s movers and shakers for an exclusive tour of its Old Dock as the city begins to gear up for the International Festival for Business 2014.
Liverpool ONE is the Official Welcome Partner for the International Festival for Business and the visit by hoteliers was part of the preparations for the festival, which will see the city welcome delegates from across the world.
The tour started at The Old Dock which sits at the heart of Liverpool ONE, before moving through the Liverpool shopping district.
Nestled away at Thomas Steers Way the dock was the world’s first commercial dock and is now preserved under Liverpool ONE.
It seemed a fitting place to begin the tour, starting at a site of the city’s heritage, after which the tour moved through the bustling, modern leisure and retail offer of the award winning Liverpool ONE.
Attendees were from the city centre’s 41 hotels and they met at Liverpool ONE ahead of the festival which will take place across seven weeks in June and July and will attract high profile business delegates and trade intermediaries.
The city’s hotels will play a huge part in making IFB a success and they will be the face of the city for many of the delegates.
Chris Bliss, Estate Director at Liverpool ONE, said: “IFB is an incredible opportunity for Liverpool and its hoteliers. The tour was a chance for Liverpool ONE to meet with the hoteliers who play a huge role in the city’s tourism industry.
“Liverpool ONE is a key component of what the city has to offer as a whole and this tour was a chance to recognise Liverpool ONE’s place as part of the wider city offer throughout IFB and beyond.
“As part of the city’s preparations for IFB, and following on from the success of previous tours, we will be inviting the hoteliers who missed out on this round of tours a second opportunity to explore the Old Dock and Liverpool ONE again.”
The popular leisure and retail destination will be hosting the unique tours for the city’s hoteliers, anyone interested in attending a tour should contact rsvp@liverpool-one.com.
