Preparations for a second century of trading for one of Yorkshire’s oldest shops
The Art Shop in the Yorkshire town of Ilkley has been trading for nearly one hundred years and now with the help of local digital agency Bluehoop, the shop’s owners are gaining customers from throughout the UK and around the world with their new online shop.
Since they were established in 1919, Ilkley’s Art Shop has seen their fair share of retail changes. However one thing has remained consistent as the Art Shop has always taken great pride in their ability to keep pace with changing consumer trends, enabling them to continue supplying their customers with high quality art materials whilst remaining a local, expert source of knowledge on all things art-related.
Tim Tennant said: “We have a loyal customer base in Yorkshire and our new, prominent shop front on Church Street provides a great advert for anyone driving through Ilkley. Since recently extending the shop we’ve enjoyed a surge in business with lots of new customers coming into the shop.”
Tim Tennant, owner of the Art Shop, has been busy preparing for another century of trading. With the help of Yorkshire-based web design company, Bluehoop Digital Limited, the Art Shop has just launched their new online shop so that customers throughout both UK and the rest of the world can benefit from an unbeatable combination of huge range of high quality art materials and the friendly, honest service that you’ll only find in Yorkshire.
Gareth Lisle, Director at Bluehoop Digital Limited, said: “We’ve helped a number of small and medium Yorkshire businesses to attract new business through the internet and when the Art Shop asked us to develop and promote their new online shop, we jumped at the chance to help a fellow local business.”
The Art Shop’s online shop has already attracted customers from both the UK and overseas and Tim Tennant is confident that his online sales look set to go from strength to strength: “Our online shop has opened up a whole new way of trading for us and it’s very exciting to think that the Art Shop has the potential to reach customers anywhere in the world.”
