Fraser Hydraulic Power expand into Neptune Yard premises

Fraser Hydraulic Power (FHP) has moved into new premises following the completion of their 28,000 sq ft design and build unit at Neptune Yard, Walker Riverside.

FHP design, manufacture and install electro-hydraulic systems for the subsea, marine and offshore industries.

The firm, which previously operated from two 11,000 sq ft properties at Fisher Industrial Estate in Walker, have now moved all their operations under one roof.

Naylors Chartered Surveyors secured the pre-let on behalf of FHP, agreeing a twenty year lease with site owners Shepherd Offshore. Naylors were also appointed to let FHP’s former premises which are now under offer.

Keith Stewart, director at Naylors said: “There is a well known lack of new industrial development in the region, particularly for units in excess of 10,000 sq ft so it is not uncommon for occupiers to struggle to find the space that they require.

“After an extensive search to find suitable premises for FHP we decided design and build was the best option to meet their needs.”

Tolent Construction were appointed as main contractor on the design and build, which provides FHP with a bespoke facility to accommodate their expansion.

Peter Fraser, director at FHP added: “In addition to the much improved manufacturing facility the site also provides access to a large assembly area and a deep water quay.

“Large equipment can be delivered or mobilised directly to the client’s vessels without the need for transporting on public roads. The forecast is to create six jobs in 2014 followed by a further ten in 2015.”

Neptune Yard forms part of the former Swan Hunter shipbuilding yard at Walker Riverside.

Shepherd Offshore announced plans last year to carry out extensive remediation works to regenerate the site for industrial and commercial development.

The 38 acre site also has Enterprise Zone status and is within the 90 acre Neptune Energy Park which has attracted major players including; Clipper, Duco (Technip) and Bridon Ropes.
