National leaders encourage North East companies to ‘Go Global’
Regional companies keen to export their goods and services outside of the UK and capitalise on the explosive growth of ‘brand Britain’ are invited to draw upon the expertise of some of the nation’s most successful business leaders.
At a live webcast on Monday 2nd June, three captains of industry will provide first-hand advice on how to break into and sustain business in overseas markets.
The ‘Going Global’ seminar is the latest in the series of ‘Inspiring Entrepreneurs’ events. Organised by the Business & IP Centre National Network, in partnership with the British Library and Barclays, it is designed to motivate ambitious business owners and help them to learn from the experiences of ‘role model’ entrepreneurs.
The founder of Cobra Beer Lord Bilimoria CBE, Sian Sutherland, founding partner and CEO of Mama Mio and Mio Skincare will join Will Butler-Adams, managing director of Brompton Bikes to take part in ‘Going Global’ – a live discussion with an interactive Q&A session for audience members to take part.
The seminar, which is being held at the British Library in London, will be webcast live to six libraries across the country, including Newcastle, where North East entrepreneur Jules Quinn, will discuss her own experiences of developing her business, the *TeaShed.
Quinn, who launched the *TeaShed straight out of Northumbria University, will give attendees an insight into her first-hand experiences of selling her products to independent stores and cafes in Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
Commenting on the event, Quinn said: “From first establishing my business three years ago to now having our products sold globally, I have always utilised the support networks around me. The ‘Inspiring Entrepreneurs’ programme is invaluable for getting an insight into businesses of all sizes and I hope to share with the North East audience some of the lessons I have learned over the years, which I hope will benefit their business.”
The free event takes place on Monday 2nd June, from 6.15-9pm, at the Business & IP Centre Newcastle, Bewick Hall, City Library level 2. To register go to www.bipcnewcastle.co.uk/events.
The Partnership delivering the Business & IP Centre Newcastle is made up of Newcastle City Council, Newcastle Science City, Northumbria University and the British Library, with support from the European Regional Development Fund.
