The Richmond celebrates first year of success

Guests celebrating the 1st Birthday of The Richmond Apart-Hotel Liverpool were transported through the seasons to a Winter wonderland.

The Grade II Listed venue in Hatton Garden was transformed into a Narnia theme, which also acted as the backdrop to launch the hotel’s Christmas packages and events brochure.

Guests were welcomed by fire blowers upon arrival before taking a journey through the magic wardrobe into Narnia, which featured stilt-walking fawns and a life-size lion – even the Ice Queen turned up to celebrate, complete with a real sleigh, on which guests enjoyed having their photographs taken.

Entertainment came from Liverpool singer Steven Fletcher in the R Bar & Brasserie. Guests then moved to the hotel’s main event space – the William & Kane Suite – where renowned sports personality impressionist Darren Farley and soul legend Alexander O’Neal kept guests laughing and dancing for the remainder of the evening.

Head Chef Damien Flynn and his team created a tasty selection of canapés during the evening.

Specially invited guests included corporate clients, suppliers, and key members of Liverpool City Region’s Visitor Economy sector.

Group Director Steven Hesketh, who is also Treasurer of Liverpool Hoteliers Association (LHA), welcomed guests and spoke about the hotel’s successful first 12 months.

He commented: “We’ve had a challenging, yet rewarding first 12 months at The Richmond. We are pleased that 2014 business is performing strong and the future looks very bright. It’s an exciting time for the hotel and our dedicated team, and we appreciate the support of our loyal returning customers and suppliers.

“Liverpool City Region is a thriving, vibrant destination, and its unique and diverse hotel stock has to be some of the best in the country. We are delighted that The Richmond is now playing a part in the continuing success of Liverpool’s hospitality sector.”

The Richmond opened in May 2013 and features 152-bedrooms; R Bar & Brasserie; William & Kane function suite; and Florentyna’s private dining event space.
