Law firm not dwarfed by major charity challenge

hlw Keeble Hawson employees dressed up as Snow White and the Ten Dwarfs to boost funds for Martin House Children’s Hospice in the 2014 Dragon Boat Race.

The 11-strong team from the Leeds office raced their brightly painted Chinese boat around the 200 metre course at Roundhay Park to support the hospice which cares for children and young people with progressive life-limiting illnesses.

This was the fifth consecutive year that hlw Keeble Hawson, one of Yorkshire’s biggest law firms, which also has offices in Doncaster and Sheffield, had participated in the race. To date the practice has raised in excess of £20,000 for the hospice.

Stacey Evans from hlw Keeble Hawson said: “It was a wonderful day. The sun shone and the 41 teams taking part immersed themselves in raising as much money as possible for such a worthwhile cause. The hospice is an incredibly special place and we are delighted to have offered our support again this year.”

Gemma Cross, Events Manager at Martin House Children’s Hospice said: “Our thanks go out to the team at hlw Keeble Hawson for taking part in the Dragon Boat Race again. We really appreciate the time and effort they have put in to fundraising and in helping us to reach our £35,000 target.”
