Engineering components company opens new site in Ellesmere Port

Deeside Precision Engineering, an SME which manufactures specialist engineering components for the oil and gas industry, has opened its new premises in Ellesmere Port.

The firm has taken a ten-year lease on Unit 1 in the town’s New Bridge Road, following £1.7 million improvement works to the area.

Backed by G and H Stainless Ltd from Sheffield, the company employs nine members of staff, and anticipates this doubling in the future based on current orders and demand.

The Mayor of Ellesmere Port, Councillor Brian Jones lent his support. He said: “It was a pleasure to be invited to officially open Deeside Precision Engineering’s new premises - it’s great to see yet another business choose to call our town home.

“Managing Director Paul Carr and his team have already taken on their new staff locally and I wish them every success as their business begins to grow.”

Managing Director of Deeside Precision Engineering, Paul Carr, said: “I’m delighted to open our new company in Ellesmere Port - the location on New Bridge Road is ideal for motorway and major road access and local skills are plentiful. TTE are located just next door and we plan to employee apprentices in the future.

“We have developed a successful partnership with the council’s property team who were incredibly helpful from initial contact to agreeing the lease – they were key in finding the perfect location and I believe we have a bright future ahead of us.”

New Bridge Road was the first area of the town to benefit from funding following a successful bid for £6 million from the Government’s Regional Growth Fund by Ellesmere Port’s Development Board and Cheshire West and Chester Council.

The £1.7 million works, which began in January, will play a part in helping to create over three thousand jobs in the town by supporting the growth of existing business and attracting major new investments.

Charirman of the Ellesmere Port Development Board, Robert Mee, said: “I would like to extend a warm welcome to Deeside Precision Engineering from Ellesmere Port’s Development Board members.

“We successfully bid for money from the Regional Growth fund to attract new businesses to the town by improving the facilities available and we are starting to see the early signs that we are achieving our goal.

“New companies are choosing to invest here to benefit from the great location and proximity to the motorways and the value of fully-equipped spaces at reasonable prices.”

RGF projects throughout Ellesmere Port will include the construction and upgrading of roads, remediation of land, improved transport links and environmental improvements to help secure investment at Hooton Park, Port Bridge Water, the former Cabot Carbon site, New Port Business Park and the former BP Stanlow site.
