Skipton and Ripon MP to promote Tour de France opportunities
Julian Smith, MP for Skipton and Ripon, is to promote the trade and investment opportunities the Tour de France brings to North Yorkshire in a series of events.
Working with UK Trade and Investment, the Government body responsible for promoting international opportunities for UK businesses, Julian will host an export fair for local businesses ahead of the Grand Depart in July.
The event will focus on how businesses in Yorkshire can utilise the increased exposure of the area during the Grand Depart and also how businesses can develop their trade overseas.
On Friday 27 June, the major Export Fair will be held at Ripon Racecourse, which companies from across North and West Yorkshire will attend, which is aimed at helping develop their international links and trade abroad.
Julian said:“The Tour de France coming to Yorkshire is a once in a lifetime opportunity to showcase everything that is great about our area.
“I am delighted that UKTI has chosen to host a major event in my constituency to encourage businesses to take advantage of the worldwide opportunities the Grand Depart will bring to the area.
“I hope the event helps businesses here develop their trade and overseas investment strategies so they capitalise on the international exposure the Tour de France brings.”
Businesses who want to attend can register at https://exportfair27thjune.eventbrite.co.uk.
