Thirsk MP to cut ribbon at £200k expansion of furniture maker Treske
Anne McIntosh, the Conservative MP for Thirsk and Malton, is to officially open the new £200,000 showrooms and extension at bespoke furniture and kitchen manufacturer Treske in Station Road, Thirsk on Friday June 6.
Treske, which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, is expanding its premises in response to a rapidly-increasing order book and demand for its products.
MP Anne McIntosh said: “I am extremely pleased to hear about Treske’s new showrooms and extension, which is a real boost to its business and a vote of confidence in Thirsk too. I am very much looking forward to seeing them and am honoured to be asked to open them. Congratulations to Treske on such positive news”.
Justin Bartlett, owner and managing director of Treske, said: “We are absolutely delighted that Anne McIntosh, our MP and one of our loyal customers, has agreed to open our extended and refurbished premises. This is the biggest investment in the company since it was formed 40 years ago in 1974.
“It reflects the growing demand for our products from across the United Kingdom and our confidence in the future, which is fuelled by the improving economic climate and the skills and commitment of our staff.
“There is no denying that the past five years have been challenging, as they have for the vast majority of companies across the country, but the economy is now improving and we are ideally placed to take advantage of that as people begin to either move to new homes or upgrade their existing ones.”
“It is now time to move up through the gears and make Treske the epitome of a 21st century company, whilst maintaining our traditional values of service and craftsmanship.
“We are upgrading our website, to make it easier for customers to choose the products they want on-line, whilst our £200k investment in facilities on site will make for an improved working environment and a better experience for our customers.”
