Accountancy franchise firm reports surge in interest from potential franchisees
Express Accountancy, the franchise operation providing low cost accountancy services to individuals and small businesses, has been inundated with potential franchisees keen to set up their own business.
Launched in Brighton, Hemel Hempstead and Newcastle upon Tyne in April, the organisation has seen hundreds of enquiries to date, with 80% from men and 20% from women.
The majority of applicants have been under 40 years old, which supports the view that younger accountants are oozing with entrepreneurial spirit and looking to take the plunge to become their own bosses.
Of the enquiries, large proportions have been from London, with 35% coming from the capital. The Midlands accounts for 16% and the least enquiries have come from Wales and Ireland.
Nearly half (44%) of those showing interest are FCCA or ACCA registered and many others associated with bodies such as the ACA, ACMA, ATT and CIMA.
Daniel Moss, franchise development director at Express Accountancy, said: “The level of genuine interest from those keen to find out more about running their own franchise accountancy practice has been great.
“There definitely seems to be a move for accountants wanting to work for themselves with the benefit that a support system which franchises like Express Accountancy gives them.”
A key selling point of the Express Accountancy franchise model is the added security of the industry first guaranteed buy-back scheme, which enables those that wish to sell their franchise to have it incorporated back into the Express company further in the future.
Offering a low cost personal approach to tax and accountancy, Express Accountancy clients will be able to buy into monthly fixed-fee accountancy packages. All clients benefit from having a dedicated accountant whom they can meet with and speak to as often as they need.
By employing accountants who specialise in working with small business owners, Express Accountancy offer support to help clients navigate through the complex world of self-assessment, company returns and financial jargon.
